Escape
She ran, the leaves and mud sticking to her shoes and legs. The rain pounded in her ears, or was that her blood? The ground below gave way and she heard him right behind her.
Like a clip from a horror film! I wonder: could you get away without the first two words, adjusting "sticking" to "stuck"? And what if the pursuer became a more ambiguous figure. Not necessarily "him," but a sound, a shape, etc.?

ReplyDeleteI wrote this because I am fascinated by horror and crime whether it be realistic or supernatural and I am huge on description.
